Isis Gaston, Ice Spice, was just another college kid from the Bronx when she broke the internet with her hit single “Munch (Feelin’ U).” Since then, she’s only shot up in fame as she released the EP “Like..?” and her debut album, “Y2K.” Not only is she loved for her hype music, but also for her general image as a celebrity. As soon as she gained popularity from the “Munch” music video, she became known for her short, orange curls and for carrying herself with confidence. Her unique sense of fashion was a big factor in establishing her public persona, and that’s what we’ll be looking at today.

All Orange Everything

Ice Spice stunned at the BET Awards. Image courtesy of Vogue.

Ice Spice wore a gorgeous orange dress and heels to compliment her signature orange locks, and no one can say it’s not her color! This dress was look number 47 from the Versace 2004 spring “Ready-to-Wear” collection. Exactly twenty years later, Ice Spice incorporated it into her carpet look, and it perfectly fits with her orange aesthetic.

She accessorized with a butterfly chain, belly ring, butterfly bracelet, silver ring, and a chain anklet. Her nails are simple but add a pop to the already stunning look. She rocked duck shaped acrylics with a french tip pattern and silver details. Her hair is its usual ginger hue, but she styled it into a blowout with loose waves, as opposed to her natural tight curls. She kept her makeup somewhat simple while still looking glam: lashes, blush, glossy lips, and filled-in eyebrows. It is a super classy look without being boring.

Similar Orange Gowns

Satin orange mermaid dress from KISSPROM.

While this dress is obviously not the same as Ice Spice’s Versace gown, it is somewhat similar in its color, material, and cut out pattern. It has its own unique aspects not found on the Versace dress, such as the X shaped pattern over the chest and waist and the boning over the torso. The bottoms are also different, as this dress flows and the 2004 Versace dress has ruching and ruffles. This dress is $169, which is a much cheaper dupe to the original Versace look. It has an average of five stars, and customer reviews describe it as very elegant looking.

Mytheresa’s Silk Halterneck Gown.

This dress is similar to the Versace dress in its knot, ruching, and bottom. Although, it does have a different neck style and no cut out. Based on which aspects of Ice Spice’s look that you loved, either of these two look-alike dresses can help you achieve the outfit that you’re envisioning. Of course, it also depends on your budget. This dress sells for just under $1,500, and it is made of 100% silk. If you do not want to drop such a substantial amount on one piece, the previous dress is much more affordable.

New York’s Princess

This outfit, worn in the “Princess Diana” music video, is a dream for every pink-lover. The heart shaped tank top, pink mini skirt, and pink chunky heels are all topped off by the long, furry pink robe. Not to mention, her diamond encrusted chain is a $100,000 animated version of her face. She wore her hair long and straight with a swooped side part. She opted for long, square acrylic nails in a shade baby pink. Her makeup was a soft beat, with orangey lips, blush, lashes, and filled in ‘brows.

Mytheresa’s heart crystal-embellished crop top.

This top is almost identical to the one that Ice Spice wears in her music video alongside Nicki Minaj. It is a hot pink, heart-shaped tank top with clear jewels all over the torso and straps. It is $895 with adjustable straps. This top is perfect for going out to the club, hosting a girls' night, and celebrating Valentine’s Day. It comes in sizes 0 to 14.

Ice Spice’s skirt is slightly fuzzy, like this one from Retrofete.

If you look closely at Ice Spice’s pink mini skirt, it is a bit fuzzy. This skirt from Retrofete, called the Cody Fuzzy Mini Skirt, sells for $175. It is offered in seven sizes, from XXS to XXL, and in one color. You can dress this skirt up with a going out top and heels. Or, you can dress it down with a sweater and Air Force 1s or Converse.

Miss Y2K

In the “Boy’s a Liar Part 2” music video, Ice Spice rocks a white velour Juicy Couture tracksuit. Her and Pink Pantheress color coordinated with their white tops and Y2K vibe. Ice Spice rocks Juicy couture and Pink Pantheress dons layered shirts. Ice Spice wore her hair natural, and she paired the outfit with her mini-me chain. She also wore silver rings and a square acrylic nail set, decorated with french tips and black stars.

Ice Spice regularly wears velour tracksuits, which fits her Y2K aesthetic perfectly. Juicy Couture in particular was very popular in the 2000s. So, if you want to recreate the look, you can find Ice Spice’s exact top and bottoms on the Juicy website. The hoodie sells for $119 and the pants sell for $99, so the outfit in its entirety is just under $220. The hoodie and pants come in 13 colors: black, pink, navy blue, white, baby pink, red, hot pink, teal, blue, peach, brown, dark blue, and green. The sizes range from XS to XL.

Ice Spice rocks any and all denim: shorts, pleated skirts, skinny jeans, pencil skirts, you name it. This particular look was worn at a Saturday Night Live afterparty, after Ice Spice made an appearance on the popular program. Her top was a spaghetti strap tank top with the same metal embellishments as her pants. Her pants are bootcut jeans that bunch up at the bottom. Her platform shoes end the look perfectly with their shade of warm brown. She accessorized with a dainty, diamond studded cross necklace.

The jeans are $58, and they come in size 2 to 16. They are available in blue denim in addition to white denim.

Details that *Spice* Up Her ‘Fits

Ice Spice’s style is so admirable because of her versatility. She can pull off almost anything you can think of, whether it comes to wearing an edgy outfit or a soft, hyper feminine one. She also utilizes her hair and accessories to personalize each look even more. While she popped out with her short orange curls at the start of her career, she has worn long straight hair, long crimped hair, a short blowout, and even short black hair for her Betty Boop costume.

Her nails are also almost always done, and she goes with something different each time. While her long, square acrylics are gorgeous, it’s her duck nails that stand out. They are called duck nails because of how they flair out like ducks’ feet. They’re super Y2K (fitting for her new album!), but they’re hit or miss with fans. Regardless of anyone’s thoughts on them, positive or negative, they make a statement nonetheless. Ice Spice has a lot of fun with the patterns she wears on her nails, and this is one of her coolest sets to date.

In addition to clothes, hair, and nails, another huge aspect of her style is her jewelry! Ice Spice does not play about her chains, as you saw by her $100,000 investment into her mini-me chain. While this might be her most impressive chain, she has a beautiful collection. She was gifted a “Munchkins” chain by Dunkin, which commemorates her partnership with the brand and her playful nickname for her fans. She also has a “Princess” chain, a butterfly chain, a cross chain, and more.
